~ Books To Inspire ~
Being a lover of all things old and antique, I have found one of my very favorite books, The Art of Divine Contentment. Mr. Thomas Watson is a prolific author from the 15th century which caught my attention from the very first paragraph. Mr. Watson has captured the essence of contentment and its importance in our daily life. A five-star read, I highly recommend. This book can be ordered here.
Another wonderful read from Mr. Thomas Watson, The Great Gain of Godliness."

This is another one of my "go-to" books. I love how the Rev. J.R. Miller expounds on the roles of each family member. Although many ideas in the book would be considered outdated, the principles found in the pages are timeless. Written with an artist's pen in 1882, I highly recommend this one. *An excerpt from the book:
"Homes are the springs among the hills, whose many streamlets, uniting, form like great rivers society, the community, the nation, the Church. If the springs run low the rivers waste; if they pour out bounteous currents the rivers are full. If the springs are pure the rivers are clear like crystal; if they are foul the rivers are defiled. A curse upon homes sends a poisoning blight everywhere; a blessing sends healing and new life into every channel."
I have gone to this 30-day devotion many times, especially in times I needed the extra encouragement from God's Word. A walk through Psalms and a heart-searching study. It is well worth the time. You can get a copy here
I've had a copy of this devotion for over twenty-six years and it is still as fresh as when I first received it. Highly recommended. You can get a copy here
How can anyone not love anything written by Beth? I love this journal/devotional. I love all of the studies we have done with Beth on her DVD series. You can get a copy of this book and her other studies here
A lovely devotion written by C.H. Spurgeon. Excerpts from his sermons are so encouraging and written with such wisdom. I love this one. You can get a copy here
Written from the wisdom of Rev. BIlly Graham, I have found this devotion such an encouragement. Gleaning from his years of walking with the Lord, this book is a treasure. You can get a copy here
This book came to me at a time when I needed to learn how to breath again. The message of the book changed how I looked at life and how I viewed the pain I had been holding in for so many years. I highly recommend this book. You can get a copy here
